Is it possible to deduce/guesstimate the rough number of J-20s built and/or handed over to the PLAAF by now, based on the recent information?
My guess is that they have a construction number from CB0919X to CB1020X if the rumor is true.

It seems that someone recorded the serial number flying out from CAC recently, and random dude in comment section said he saw 61022 flew out from CAC couple of days ago.

I am still confused that even if it is a newly built one, how would they tell just by watching them flying out from CAC? It could be an old plane being there for maintenance or they have recorded the construction number & serial number together?

Update, it seems that my first theory could be true.
Ahhh it could be still old plane (on the Airshow), but it is real that the first batch of J-20s are being traded in, waiting for dudes to take hi-res pics to see the batch numbers
诶也可能去的还是老机,不过头一批以旧换新是真事儿,等着前方大佬拍高清图看批次号

Not really? ... looks like 61022 or 61023?
Should be 61025 and 61029.

The clearest photo is from usual CG maker @四川地产界高层-军事画匠.

However, this time it should be a real photo, if one looks around the environment. The rumor I heard is that 61025 is from new batch meanwhile 61029 is still from old batch.007YOdwfgy1hg4se7kpmnj31hc0u0qji.jpg

I wonder if all the older J-20’s, starting with Batch 1 aircraft, are returning to CAC to get updated to the latest standard.

As we know there were a great many improvements to the intermediate J-20’s since production started, with this upgrade they can all be brought up to J-20A standard (minus WS-15).
