I'm incredulous, but the cartoonist has been reliable. There might have been a redesign of the swivel rails, or maybe it's always been able to carry two, or the cartoonist is mistaken or trolling us. I don't know. We'll wait and see.

I guess WVR is still an important aspect of combat for the J-20 if they are willing to load up two IR missiles per bay!
I wonder if it is possible to fit a PL-15 into the side bay as well if the space is not of concern.

Are the side bays long enough for PL-15s, to say nothing of the depth?

Don't be fooled, the artist of this drawing posted this caption "以20这个体量，不多来两发真的可惜了。“ This translate to " With the size of J-20, it would be a real shame if there's not 2 more missiles." Take it as a joke guys.
Extremely unlikely that the sidebays will host a longer , let alone multiple missiles.
What about the main weapon bay ? I think i've never seen a configuration accommodating 3*2 or 6 missiles. Any Pictures of that ? Currently, the maximum accomodated (afar as images go ) are 4.

发 can be rounds, or an item with numerical meaning, so in this case, it means missiles
That makes more sense. The mechanism itself also takes up internal space.
Well, the J-20 and the F-22 could probably only detect each other within 50 km (or less), so advanced heat-seeking missiles are more practical than radar guided (which would likely detect other stealth airplanes) missiles.What? The cartoon implies the side bays can each hold two missiles.
