I believe someone build a computer model based on this picture

then adjusted parameters of lighting conditions and material (glossy/matte) to render it. The "flap" on the leading edge of the wing is a dead giveaway that this is CG. Maybe the flap is called different names if they are in front

You have eagle's eyes. :D The pictures are take at exact same angle.

I am learning rendering 3d model now. LOL. I know photography well and this pic looks more like a render to me. They intentionally did vignette to increase the realism, nobody does that with a real photo unless you have something to hide. Certain local areas could be done by a mixture with the photo in PS.

But maybe it was done by an insider to show the new design changes, and the real photo can come out later; can't rule out that.

Are you sure ? ... can anyone make an overlay of both?

IMO they are clearly not the same. Look at the slats, WHICH ARE DIFFERENT (full span) on the LRIP-birds, the position of the right MLG ...

I really don't know why anyone assume this to be a CG..? They are similar by coincidence but different enough to see that they are two images.

Hmmm... they look very similar... What would be the odds that, on two separate occasions, two distinct and highly dynamic (fast-moving) objects could be photographed at exact same angle and every single part of the two planes is at the exact same position?

Well it is more of my opinion, not saying it is photoshoped. I could be wrong, but if you look at the new pic's lighting and material texture, overall consistency, and lack of details at the same time, as well as the vignette added during post processing are all indicators this is not from an actual photo. vignette from the lens is usually in round shape. Adding vignette to a render can increase realism but adding digital vignette to an actual photo has not been popular among military pictures

No, just as I pointed out, there are many differences, minor ones indeed, but both images are clearly not based on one or another or a CG.
