What's the minimum J-20 count so far? Unfortunately, the J-20 looks like it's in the same T/W as the F-35, with estimated 30000 kg payload fully loaded.

Going by confirmed serial numbers, it's six -- 78271 to 78276. Of course, the actual number is anyone's guess...

A t/w like that of F-35, on interim engines is quite a comfortable one for current J-20 imo until ws-15 is ready, especially if the sensors and datalinks on J-20 are as good as one would expect for a 5th generation fighter.

As I've said many times, the J-20 has a good chance of being superior to the F-35 and gives China the first chance in forever to have superior airpower to the United States. Dealing with naval forces, on the other hand, is more problematic.

There's also an unnumbered one that's confirmed. We saw it flying in formation with a few numbered ones during the 90th PLA Anniversary Parade rehearsals.

I recall that airframe, but I was under the impression that the un-numbered one had possibly had its number PSed off?

If it was actually a real un-numbered one, is it likely that it is a seventh painted, un-numbered airframe or could it have been one of the 7827X airframes that had yet to have its number painted on?

In any case, I've basically given up trying to accurately track the number of J-20s at this point, as it's pretty obvious that the military is only letting us see what they want us to see now.

That the FCS is very complex is supported by the fact that, if I'm not mistaken, you still can't get a RC J-20 model in the market.

Without the FCS the RC J-20 model is probably too difficult to fly and the RC model manufacturer simply don't have the expertise to build in a FCS for the model.

The only way is to heavily modify the J-20 model. Otherwise, without the FCS, it will be quite an effort to control the J-20 model, as can be seen in this video.

and you can see just how difficult those aero's are with a stabilizing gyro or two doing their thing... too much wind here to actually tell how well this J-20 would fly. RC Powers seemed to fly very well.

The RC Powers J-20 design is a heavily modified one from that of the real J-20 design.

The former is a very stable design in favor of manual control-ability at the expense of maneuverability, and without consideration for how draggy and slow it has become since it's just a RC model more for flying fun.

You're living in a fantasy world bro,,,, nobody's gonna build a "scale" true to life model of the J-20,,, its not economically possible?? starting with the FCS alone,,, they can make a model go faster, or slower, but even the Chinese Govt would have a cow trying to replicate the real thing,,,,

and yes I do know they did some scaling and flying those scalings, but they ARE NOT accurate renditions of the J-20 and do not accurately replicate her capabilities even in scale..

Now can you learn something of course you can, and the RC-Powers J-20 is for real awesome, displaying the J-20s supermaneuverability rather than its speed, and that's where the real kool is! sorry Bub, but scale flying aircraft, all have to have help,,, the larger the size, the easier they fly without Gyro stability enhancement.
