J-31 Could Not Make It?

Love the bottom video with the rolling maneuver out of a steep right bank into a tight left bank, very nicely executed, and no doubt this bird handles very well.

No ! We have seen them with pylons but not with drop-tanks !

IMO they are indeed ready to go to Zhuhai ...

So now we know its plumbed to carry 4 additional "drop tanks", the F-22 typically carries two 600 gallon aux tanks??? I imagine it is also "plumbed" to carry up to 4. Typically you use the two outboard tanks first, then the inboard tanks then internal fuel.

The Mitsubishi turbo-prop I flew the Tips were actually the mains, roll control was "spoilers" rather than traditional ailerons, as the whole aft of the wing was "Fowler Flaps", in order to add lift. So roll control was critical, and it was critical to manage fuel flow to keep the Tip tanks at very near the same level, otherwise you would be flying along having to carry a little spoiler on the light side, creating drag, and reducing "roll responsiveness"

I would imagine that you are right Deino, particularly with the "rolling reversal" and other advanced maneuvers being displayed above.
