Looks like a space rocket, eitherway...I WANT ONE!
Looks like a ship from the "Flash Gordon Movie" that featured the band "Queen"???

maybe because the color is grayish? I would say bluish or purplish and much lighter in shade than the fuselage. We know that the "mockup" or "cover" was of the same color as the fuselage (same paint). But this photo seems to show that it is glass, reflective and color changing due to the optical coating. How can you tell? I only see a grayish blob.
Are we talking about the yellow J-20 picture? The fuselage was not painted so it's not strange to have the little placeholder in a different color (probably made from different materials)maybe because the color is grayish? of course not the yellow one which only showed its back, but the light gray one which showed its belly. I think Dino must have referred to the gray J-20 in Jeff's post https://www.sinodefenceforum.com/j-20-5th-gen-fighter-thread-v.t7303/page-268#post-417380.Are we talking about the yellow J-20 picture? I just don't expect a coated glass window to look that kind of grayish white. Not impossible but doesn't look right. A video showing changes in reflection (or the lack thereof) would be much more telling.
But again if it is being handed to the PLA they should have the subsystem ready. Some earlier pictures of the yellow 2101 did show a darker IRST cover which kind of resemble tinted glass (not clear enough to say for sure) so maybe the greyish color in the recent pic is indeed a glass reflection? More pictures should tell.
That is the yellow one, I believe two pictures are showing the same aircraft.of course not the yellow one which only showed its back, but the light gray one which showed its belly.
