I'm very sure the PRC system for financing aircraft development doesn't resemble the US system.

Well Master Delft, Chinese engines require JP just like Western engines, and Chinese aircraft development and production, requires "cashola", just like Western aircraft. Maybe the money is a different color, but it still takes lots and lots of "cashola", and yes when your biggest customer is having money problems, they tend to pass it down to you. Just "bidnez" 101.

I do not believe it was drawn by hand, probably software effects you can use in apps like PS to turn photo into line drawings with pencil effects.

Like I mentioned in the Chinese aviation news thread there was some news release a few months back saying the government was going to clamp down on leaks. Now there's almost no new pics coming out for anything. I don't think it's lack of cash because the military is a priority.

Although not directly related nor am I suggesting there is any direct relationship but I believe many Military officials are being sent to court on corruption charges at the moment which may inhibit cash flow temporarily.

We'll probably need to wait and see as the dust settles.

How many? And how many of them were involved in the J-20 project?

What does this has to do with the overall J-20 project? That's your invention, quit assuming something you don't know 100% sure about.

You're right, as far as that goes. But delaying the development of J-20 is wasting the time of the very valuable people doing the work and that is a form of waste an engineer recognizes. And engineers are well represented among the leaders of PRC.
In the US over the last quarter century the competition has been between US companies without serious danger of foreign countries stealing a march so wasting the time of engineers was a small matter in the games played in Congress. Therefore the concerns of the bean counters in both countries are different.
