If indeed a recent image "after" the reported transfer of '2011' to the CFTE it would be interesting to know if the same bird came back again, if that report is simply wrong or if it is already '2012' !

Hmmm. I looked at the image of the piece you posted. I think there might be some mis-interpretation...

Yes, the post on weibo is little confusing. He said the first two are confirmed, but then said the mid size fighter is not confirmed yet.

I think he means updates on the two queries, of which the J-20 2012 was confirmed while the mid sized fighter was not.
And also 001A refers to the first indigenous carrier I think.

I don't think the J-20 development period took into account the "competition period" between J-20 and the SAC heavy fighter.

It might just be the carrier variant of J-31. They probably increased the size to accommodate greater weapons load and fuel capacity.
