I think he's talking about "nose art" the practice of painting attractive women on the nose of an aircraft, something that was Kool in the past, especially the Army Aircorp, that attractive, sometimes scantily clad woman could be your wife or girlfriend, or a movie star or any attractive sweet siren! The aircraft was the aluminum embodiment of said Lady, and would watch out for you and bring you home safe , think Glamorous Glennous, (Mrs. Chuck Yeager), Shoo Shoo Baby, or To HOT to Handle, or just keep you warm on the way to your target. Since most aircraft are Babes, I do know these things, it would help to take away the FEAR that caused you to stink like a dead carp, cause you knew that your baby was watching your/her six.
I'm sure most of the images are in the same league as some of the Ladies in the daily China news and pix posted here every day, in the Politically Correct, easily offended over nothing world we live in, pilots and their crew are no longer allowed this personal expression of "connectivity", with their aluminum lover, no different in essense than naming your sword "Excaliber". As a Pastor, Father of seven daughters, and a PILOT, I would prolly paint the Honey Badgers picture on my bird. In my mind and heart, there is no finer form on this God's earth than Woman, my wife takes care of herself and is VERY ATTRACTIVE, she is also a banker and an elected official, and I respect her a great deal, but I'm quite certain that she is not offended that I consider her attractive.
So I do think some "tasteful nose art" would be appropriate for the J-20, being an old married man with a wife and daughters, it should prolly have some of long flowing attire, the Nose Art Ladies were almost always pictured at speed, sometimes wearing "aviator" style sunglasses or riding a bomb? Crazy huh??? So yes, absolutely she should be given a womans persona, maybe the Eng's avatar, but ya better ask him first??? brat
So name her the "Black Widow", the "Dragon Lady", she would definetly need long black silk ........."gloves". Sweet Dreams Gentlemen!

Not sure if it's cuz I've just gotten up from my coma from a recent paper and naturally people who just got up thinks weird, but I find this one of the most beautiful posts ever.
Why? I think these artwork symbolizes a great deal in terms of culture. Traditionally that would be war paint on a warrior, figurehead on a man o war, but they also represents everything that people and culture thinks, certain times of history, even myths, traditions, icons, what not, that are represented in something as scientific and modern and high tech like a modern fighter fleet.
The amount of personalization of these arts, fighter squadron nicknames, callsigns, badges really is quite a touch of personal identity in what otherwise could perhaps be equivalent of how despite a soldier with identical basic uniforms like the rest of his troops, will retain personality just simply in their boots, rifles, medals, vests, personal equipment being shined at different pace, earned differently, worn differently, damaged differently, etc. It truly helps build a personal character and connection to their job and belonging within what is otherwise a system of collective culture.

Sadly due to the nature of the craft and the need for highly specialized low signature coatings nose art is hard to justify. But not necessarily impossible. I remember seeing a documentary on the F117 Nighthawk seeing the inside of one of the bomb bays has Been painted with a rather fun take on the movie line art from Steven King's Christine. Only the classic 57 Chevrolet was replaced with the visage of that stealth bomber. Although I suspect the PLA would as the USAF frown on a provocative violation of regulations emblazoned on the nose; I would not be surprised if they don't want to know what was going on in the weapons bay firewall.

It needs some decals man! I mean these days there is no point in putting on # of kills, so you might as well tag it with some sweet booty.
And heck, even if it's outside of military standards, to put some ladies on the cgi would be fine and dandy!

Here's putting a Franklin on the little sisters being brought to the front and center by our current little dust-up, I'd say within the month we will see a fire in the fireplace and 2003 and 2004 rolled out at Chengdu in the next six months or so, lots of those A-wacky birds up and running now, so we will see, prolly won't be long before the people are asking where their fifth gens are??? brat
