the exact number of T/R module on J-10B was 1152,power output per module was 10 w.this gave her max. detection range around 190~200km. (same as RBE-2)

And detecting a F-22A at 280km would probably be very difficult in real world circumstances, where the USAF would be employing EW.

I don't disbelieve the AESA radar's 280 km range. However, I doubt its ability to track F-22s.

If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is, my ole Daddy used to say "figures lie, and liars figure". There's no evidence to substantiate such a claim, while I am quite sure their radar is gaining capability, and power, they have NOTHING comparable to an F-22 to run full scale testing against.....our first and second generation stealth aircraft did very well against adversarial air defenses, with only one F-117 lost to a ground based SAM radar, which is much more capable than airborne radar that will equip fighter sized aircraft???? brat

Consider that Phozotron-Zhuk-AE has only 650 plus T/R module for MiG-29,while J-10B AESA has 1152 T/r module.no wonder Chinese AESA designer may realized they are ahead on antenna design.particular in the area of "packaging".
But still ther's no data yet about J-10B AESA overall performance, her peak power, power, althought open text claim it achieve 10w output per module.

Hardware, this not a software. Please tell me how T/R pieces?

they are saying 280 km for a 0.4 squared meters target, go figure if that is the F-22 RCS

it's been taken out from Wikipedia but the.450km detection range strongly pointing at 10.0m2 target.250km at 1.0m2.
early variant of APG-77 with 1500 t/r modules possess 400km detection range, but newer version with 2000t/r module gave her 490km max. detection range.and a still a impressive 200~180km against 0.1m2 target.
