Jeff the second serial 101 looks like 107? Which off course we have not seen

Why is the 3rd digit so slanted looks more like a 7 and not a 1
The forward number does look a little slanted. I do not know if that is lighting or what, but the tail number is clearer when you make it larger. Let me see if I can find an even higher res picture.

You may not agree with it, but the PLAN training methodology seems to be to get as much done on land as humanly possible on their carrier similuatitor airfield, then move to carrier training for qualifications and advanced stuff they can't easily simulate on land.

Nothing wrong with the way the PLAN is going about their CV programme. Nothing at all in my opinion. It does seem slow at times. However so is the USN!

USN Naval aviators are of course trained ashore first before they ever attempt to land aboard ship. This takes approximately two years. Then an additional two & one half years learning to fly an Hornet, Hawkeye, Growler or a SH-60. Then once successfully completed the pilot will be assigned a Fleet squadron.

Training Pipeline following commission. As a student pilot, you'll learn basic airmanship skills, instrument and formation flying, and basic acrobatic maneuvers. You'll also master the art of solo flight, earning the qualification to move on to more demanding training in a specific type of aircraft. Your intermediate and advanced pilot training will occur in one of five naval air communities. These five "pipelines" are jet (strike), turboprop (patrol and reconnaissance), multi-engine jet (strategic communications), carrier turboprop (airborne early warning) and helicopter (rotary). The pipeline you are in will determine the specialty flying skills you are taught, such as basic air combat tactics, gunnery, low-level flight and carrier landings. You'll also learn land and water survival techniques - key aspects of the Naval Aviation challenge. You'll earn your much-coveted Wings of Gold when you successfully complete your advanced training. With your Wings, you'll join the ranks of the most respected aviators in the world-Navy pilots. Before being assigned to your first operational squadron, you'll join a Fleet Replacement Squadron (FRS) for training in the specific type of aircraft you'll fly in the fleet.

This gentlemen is what a pilots airplane looks like, lots of funky kool nacelles hanging off the aft fuselage, mid wing-center of lift very near the center of gravity, lots of stabilator, rudder, and wing, canards to generate vortex lift, and enough horsepower to make her say Howdy, it really does NOT get "much" better than this, this is as of tonight, the premier carrier aircraft in the world today, and yes I like F-18s, and Mig 29ks, and even the F-35C, but the brat says this is a great overwater airplane, lots of visibility, maneuverability, and just plain old "sexy baby looks", yes all fighter aircraft are female, of course, treat them like ladies and show due respect, and live a long and happy life!

Oh, and the Shark, oh baby, almost as kool as the Jolly Roger on the F-14, almost!

Oh, and I can hear that TOP GUN music in the background when we first see the F-5s masquerading as Migs, "do do dut, do, do, dut, HighWay to the DANGER ZONE, take ya right into the DAAANGER ZOOOOONE!"

very nice young man! and what lovely ladies they are, like I said, she even looks great in primer! and I am going to maintain that these are the LRIP aircraft, not prototypes in the true sense, but variants on the basic Flanker aircraft, but I do realize that as carrier aircraft with the hook etc, they are major variants in the sense that lots did change!
