Hmm, it is surprising they didn't give the j-15 retractable boarding ladders and spring loaded foot steps to reduce deck clutter.
Probably to save every kilo of dead weight they can at the expense of deck clutter.

That's not CGI, that's a model. CGI stands for 'computer generated imagery'. It's also not a J-15 because J-15s have canards. It's probably a J-16 but it could also be a J-11 variant. The BVRAAMs are PL-15s with trapezoidal fins as opposed to the triangular fins of PL-12s.
