I deleted a few low effort joke posts of sexualized/vulgar nature.

Keep things PG in the flagship threads please.

I've also deleted a few posts that are "meta" commentary about articles/links. If the content of an article is not being directly talked about, and instead it is simply complaining about biases/contextual discourse, that is a waste of everyone's time.

If an article is bad quality, simply directly address its issues and let everyone move on. The more time spent complaining about the motivations of an article's authors or venting about sociocultural contexts is a waste of everyone's time in these flagship threads.

Nope. Only model is confirmed to appear and probably not even full scale model.

Agree - normally China has asked Pakistan to attend these shows with its Chinese equipment that it wants to promote(eg JF17). PAF is still tied up in operations so i dont see PAF going anywhere until the temperature drops with India. Technically, the Indians have only "paused" their aggression, not stopped them entirely yet.

Highly acclaimed!

So much cope in the article… Just because there is no direct video footage of the kill then it is possible for six Indian jets to magically crash by themselves due to accidents or friendly fire? Why is it so hard to admit the obvious? If someone is shot dead and you find bullet casing/bullets in the wall near the victim, isn’t it safe to conclude the cause of death?

I think the gay guy was onto something he said that Western military analysts have a fetish for Western fighter aircraft invincibility. If they apply the same standard to USAF during the Gulf War then there is no confirmed BVR kills either.

It should be obvious from the absolutely complete lack of IAF response with the Rafale -- no meteor or MICA AAM fragments (except for the one blown off along with the pylon), no claims from Rafales on any PAF aircraft and in fact no claims of any engagement except for the ones where the Rafales were the victims.

In fact, entire IAF itself was an absolute no-show in the air after May 7th. We see nothing, no R-77s either from that very large mass of IAF Su-30MKIs.

This is the act of an air force that suffered major losses to its best aircraft and had basically abandoned the field. No air force with $280M fighters as its main assets would have been this quiet unless that fleet was devastated.

Superiority complex

Once more conclusive details drip out I anticipate the following cope:

1) ROE prevented IAF from firing on Pakistanis jets.
2) Swedish AWACS played huge role in the downing too. We don’t know if KJ-500 are as capable since they are not combat proven.
3) Rafale is not even a top end Western fighter. F-16V with AIM-120D3 and towed decoy will easily beat it.

It was way too expensive for China. They did collaborate with Grumman for J-8II Peace Pearl and they had an opportunity to observe it.

Similarly the French showcased Mirage 2000 and got a Chinese pilot to fly in it during the 80s. Even after Jun 4th incident some level of contact was kept, and they even sold the CATIA design software which helped during design phase of J-10.
I also have the impression that YangWei, aka J-20 chief designer was in charge of J-10 fly-by-wire development back then with Israel tech transfer.
I'm not sure if I remember correctly though.
