According to the life indicators of the new fighter jets under development revealed in the paper "Discussion on the Life Indicator Requirements of Advanced Trainer Aircraft and Technical Approaches to Achieve Life Indicators" published by the China Aircraft Strength Research Institute in 2000, it can be seen that the design life indicators of the J-10 aircraft are 5,000 hours, 7,500 flights, and a lifespan of 20 years.

this paper was written in 2000, when the J-10 had not yet completed its service test flight, and no J-10 had completed 5,000 hours of flight time at that time.
Of course, "requirements have not been achieved"
This shows the rigor of the paper.

The actual flight time depends on demand
According to the Shipborne Weapons Magazine, the retired j-10S donated by avic in 2019 had only flown for 15 years, but the total flight time reached 5,000 hours.

The J-10S are the 2 seat trainer version. You expect them to do a lot more hours than a 1 seater.

And if you look at the US, annual flight hours per pilot have dropped to less than 100hours per year and that is now deemed "sufficient", partly because ground-based training simulators are now so much more realistic.

More like the T-38 Talons the US does have are rotting away. At the same time the 5th gens lack the two seater trainers that 4th gens like the F-16 had. The US lacks the planes necessary to train their pilots properly. It is as simple as that.
