Yes, it was brought up by some politicians but if you ask around, the chance that Turkey will get J-10Cs is almost non-existent.
I've heard that the Turks were impressed by its performance in a joint exercise with PAF. I personally think that the platform is underrated in the export market. I think its also relatively affordable compared to the European equivalents.
It's probably underrated in a purely technical sense, but selling high-end platforms internationally is more of a political game than a technical one. Those kind of military dependencies are only feasible between countries with close relations and mutual interests plus the actual military need, and unfortunately there aren't a whole lot of markets for the J-10 which fit those requirements.
That is true but even then there is often this lack of presence of J10s when in places where it should exist, like when there is a customer for medium combat aircraft, Rafale, EF, F-16, mig 35 are all in contention but J-10 just doesn’t seem to be there as a serious contender, even when the country has a healthy relationship with China. Maybe China doesn’t push it too heavily like the other countries do for their platforms?
I believe the J-10C is a lot cheaper than all the aircraft you listed.
It may well be but what about support? Buy Rafale, you've got 70+ years of experience in supporting clients around the world, buy J10 - not so much.
