Correct commentary with the "copying". Most countries aren't even able to copy ;)

J-9 program was actually doing canards before the others. The Europeans and Chinese both thought delta canards (some are cropped) are better than the American and Soviet legacy 4th gens.

Ive not seen any close ups of J-10C. Ive seen some early versions and it seems to be quite crude. Can anyone compare closeup of J-10 vs F16/15?

"500,000" meme (W or 万 is Chinese for ten thousand, this number is denominated in RMB) comes from the supposed reward MSS hand out to people if they report suspicious activities up to the government and it leads to genuine foreign agents getting caught. In reality rewards a much lower than that.

Back when CD was still alive I have seen at least one case of CDer refer to you as 德国老特务, or "that old German spy" in a similar vein. I think generally PLA does get quite annoyed when military watchers go into "bean counting" with serial numbers or ORBAT, perhaps more so than leaked photos. So you do have a bit of a fame among Chinese military watchers for being naughty.

Well, thanks a lot for that detailed analysis of my standing in the Chinese community, however I hope they understand, that I'm not again China.

Anyway, when I visited Zhuhai in 2018 they had all chanced to avoid me attending the show since I made a most stupid mistake when filling in the Visa forms, however it was most kindly solved and corrected with very generous help from the embassy in Frankfurt. So at least it seems I was not unwelcome in China!
