Yes I heard that the J-7s are being swapped out.
I know quite a few analyst ruled off J-10 acquisition as wasteful, not a game changer, better off upgrading F16 to latest block etc. But do remember that US equipment comes with strict end-use and end user regulation, not to mention mountain of congress hurdles one nation have to go through to upgrade or purchase US hardware. All in all i see positive aspect of these procurement.
Come to think of it, the final go may very well be connected with the 2019 engagement.I know quite a few analyst ruled off J-10 acquisition as wasteful, not a game changer, better off upgrading F16 to latest block etc. But do remember that US equipment comes with strict end-use and end user regulation, not to mention mountain of congress hurdles one nation have to go through to upgrade or purchase US hardware. That was revealed last month if I am not mistaken. Those are WS-10 J-10Cs too.Recently, newly refitted pilots of a brigade of the Air Force of the Eastern Theater Command conducted two-on-one air confrontation training. From the full modification of the J-7 fighter to the J-10 fighter, from close-range visual air combat to over-the-horizon air combat, the pilots used a variety of tactics to adjust the air posture, firmly lock the target in the electromagnetic interference, and complete the "kill"!
According to the comments I saw on Weibo by netizens, the Weibo mentioned that this brigade of the Eastern Theater Air Force was replaced with J-10C fighters.
