J-10 Thread IV

Huitong speculates j10d is a semi stealthy variant... Which sounds a bit implausible. Unless they went for either a radical redesign (bigger than what j10b introduced) or they went for stealthy weapon containers. But still, fuel consumption would likely be quite big, again requiring some structural changes...

a stealth single engine jet would be nice tbh.

Interesting to see what is understood by it.
I personally always assumed that J-10B frontal RCS is likely not overly high in the first place, or else what was the point of redesigning the intake.

Decrease aircraft weight to compensate for the added weight of new radar, electronics, and engine.

Yeah, j10b was allegedly completely redesigned structurally. New construction methods, materials, internal structures, etc.

In theory, j10d may be primarily about that once again. 14 years later might bring enough advances to warrant another internal makeover.

I certainly don't expect that j10d will be visually much different. Not more than j10b was from j10a. If that.

China can create stealth fighters with an engine. But it will be very complicated and expensive. It is equivalent to creating a new fighter. J-10 improvement to create J-10D is a cheaper and more efficient solution, although it is a sneaky seller

Certainly the J-10D does not match F-35 or SU-57/75. But it's good enough to crush Su-27, Su-30, F-2, F-16, Tejas,Rafale, FC-K

and flankers. since j10c already proven it's up for the task

New carrier jet is structurally 3D printed, so maybe we will see that? It would reduce weight a lot.
