They are beautiful birds, and I wish I could get my hands on one of the J-10Bs!

The weird thing is that after about 60 J-10B/Cs are produced, these 60 planes just disappeared, while J-10A seems to have resumed production.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves, we don't have evidence of new production J-10As yet... it's yet to be determined if siege's photo is merely a new photo of an J-10A taken before (when they were still being produced) but only released now, or if it's a new photo of a newly produced J-10A.

I personally expect the former to be the case rather than the latter.

I have not seen any new J-10A pictures coming off the line.

I think it is simply that we do not know and that the Chinese blackout or scrubbing of info getting out to the net is working pretty good.

If the built 60 "B varieties and put them into service, then unless something went terribly wrong with them (which we would have probably have had even more chance of hearing about), then there would be no reason to go back to the "A".

Yes, bus normally replacement numbers are built into production right away, so with say 100 built J-10As, not all will go into operational squadrons, some will go into OC squadrons and part will be in reserve, to replace aircrafts that have crashed during their operational life or to replaceme wartime losses.

Keep in mind that J-10A crashes have to be replaced eventually.
