Supposedly Fengbubei said there will be more news tonight (China time). I'm still thinking it's the J-10B handover ceremony, but CJDBY has it on authority that the fighter in question was yellow skinned and has a 3 digit number so ... that rules out the J-10B ...

Or perhaps it's a prototype J-10B flying with the WS-15 .. that would be even more exciting .. ;)

They wouldn't use the J-10 to test engines. There was a pic of primer coloured J-10B prototype without the ecm fairings this week that had me wondering if it wasn't an old picture but in fact a J-10C prototype.

What made you think that? o_O
I mean, there weren't any physical indicators to suggest it was J-10C by any stretch of imagination IMO...

Shot in the dark thought, simply because the J-10C may end up looking identical to the J-10B. The picture in the CDF thread didn't have a number on it, so it's unclear whether it was just one of the old prototypes or if it's a new airframe. If it's the latter, it would be a little odd for their to be a new J-10B air frame that was either missing a feature or be a new prototype for something about to go into production.

I think the most likely conclusion is it's just an old picture.... Especially when J-10C should have at least some physical differences from the J-10B.

Huitong has updated his section on the J-10 stating that "Meanwhile the first J-10C prototype is undergoing taxiing test." :p added with this image.

Does anyone know why thi is said to be the J-10C ... and even more my own 2 Cents, it looks fueselage-wise with the typical green center-fuselage part like a J-10A airframe modified to J-10B standard. Any ideas from You ??
