What's this link it says JF-17 09-111 was the first production JF-17 from PAC and for some reason it's then linked to serial 13-143 and a few other errors

Anyhow that means it wouldn't be the first mistake because that looks like a J10B to me

Huitong has updated his section on the J-10 stating that "Meanwhile the first J-10C prototype is undergoing taxiing test." :p added with this image.

Does anyone know why thi is said to be the J-10C ... and even more my own 2 Cents, it looks fueselage-wise with the typical green center-fuselage part like a J-10A airframe modified to J-10B standard. Any ideas from You ??

Deino

My thoughts exactly. looks like a regular J-10B

Hmmm ... not really !
If You look then all new-built J-10B have a common yellow-promer all over the surface, while all older J-10A/AS and also the first J-10B prototypes have this greenish center-section. I don't know if this is a hint for something new structurally or simply a change to a common primer but it is noticeable.

As such even if there are surely a few mistakes included or hidden in his page, I deem Huitong itself a verrrry reliable source and I'm sure he added the J-10C not only based on that image but alos an the talk on several blogs and forums.

Anyway at least from what I see right now I tend to assume that this J-10C is either an older J-10B-airframe modified to C-standard (without any so far visible changes to a B) or even a rebuild J-10A.

As such I hope for better images .... SOOON !

In that case I stand corrected I did not realise this page was credible, if you say so then it must be

There is mistakes in all pieces of work you are right that does not mean they are not credible

Good news I will follow this page from now on! Hope J10C is true news

I know it is a wild guess, but could it be, that the J-10C is a carrier-borne aircraft?

What kind of equipment is usually installed in the middle panels?

As far as I am informed the J10C is different compared to J10B. It has same hump as block52. So this is probably ordinary J10B in the picture. About the all yellow... That is already coating just before being painted... Look at some detail pictures and you will see that it has been painted once with yellow primer...

There's a misunderstanding in the designations, it seems. The recent photo of the "J-10C" prototype not only suggests that none of the rumored improvements were made, but that the entire J-10B program had gone backwards by removing some of the J-10B's features.

However, that is unlikely to have happened.

Instead, a plausible explanation would be that the photo of the "J-10C" is either that of a "J-10C" subsystems testbed or an export variant of the J-10B for Pakistan. The real J-10C, which will include "comprehensive upgrade" that will certainly alter its appearance, is not revealed yet. A strike fighter, as is rumored to be the J-10C's role, would require twin seats as well as an upgraded engine which would dramatically change its physical configuration. The J-10C would still have upgrades like twin seats, upgraded engine, new radar, conformal fuel tanks, and such.

It's just that the current photo is not of a J-10C but rather some other unit.
