I don't think the PLAAF has too much interests in training with the Pakistan JF-17, rather, Mirage 3 and F-16 can provide them opportunities to get valuable experience if they have to fight against Taiwanese F-16 and Mirage 2000-5 in the future.

Having JF-17s at the next Shaheen Air-Exercise would provide invaluable insight to Pakistan Air Force on how the Thunder would perform against Su-30MKKs, which are the closest in simulating the Su-30mki. But that all depends on China's consent to such training-ops. Either way, its great to finally see a consistent exchange between the two air forces with the Shaheen Air-Exercises. I've always been a strong advocate of broader spectrum of Sino-Pak military exercises. Be they Army, Navy or Air Force. Hope to see more in the future and witness the growth of these thoroughly professional air forces!

As for F-16s participating in PLAAF's presence .......... PLAAF was invited by TuAF to hold joint-exercises back in 2010. There, PLAAF had its Su-27s which flew joint-missions with TuAF's F-16s. Although, I'm sure, there wouldn't have been pitted against each other, the exchange between the two countrys' air forces, is a brilliant idea and I look forward to witnessing greater ties between China and Turkey.

Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself, but it would be amazing to see PAF, PLAAF & TuAF, hold joint-exercises. That would be something which PLAAF would benefit from and likewise for PAF & TuAF!!!

There will be no opportunity for combat between PLAAF and Taiwanese aircraft. Taiwan is generally recognized as part of China ( and the difference in military strength is huge ). If the Taiwanese government does something stupid, i.e. declare independence, China can declare the ports and airports of the island closed, which means ships and aircraft using them won't have insurance cover. So no more tankers bringing oil, no more container vessels carrying away electronic products, no more Taiwan economy until the island is de facto incorporated into China. The Taiwanese government will not be so stupid.

How do you think mirage and J-7 would fare against more modern J-10a?
Basically , only chance they have is to be vectored by ground control into the rear hemisphere of fourth gen fighter and then get close enough to launch their weapons without being detected . Other than that , they are hopelessly outmatched in both avionics and mechanics (kinematics and maneuverability ) .
