well if you do not speak chinese like i do, to be honest is interesting to view it with subtitles and J-10s flying, but all this type of movies have terrible bad actors and plot story.
I only liked Top Gun and it was just because of the F-14, but the story is crap

You must be a youngin' MiG... you have to remember the era of when Top Gun first came out also. There were many other movies like TG during those time period. Anyone remember the Iron Eagle movies?
The 1980's US is VERY different than now. Back then right before the Berlin Wall came down was basically the height of the cold war. The USSR was the proverbial boogeyman and Hollywood cashed in on that.
The country was very 'patriotic' and shows like TG and IE works.
Looking back through 2013 lens sure the movie was cheesy, effects crappy and plot wobbly BUT if you watched it in 1986 you would think it was a GREAT movie.
I mean heck look at Rambo III. Everyone was cheering for Rambo and the mujaheedeen fighters. Many of whom later formed the Taliban and Al Queda in real life. Can you imagine a US Soldier fighting WITH AQ even in a movie today? LOL
As to this TG ripoff I only have one thing to say! The awful motorcycle!!!!!!!!!! WHY WHY did they put her on a 1980s japanese road cruiser? they could have put her on at least a sports bike to go with the theme of fast jets! maybe a Ducati, Gixxer or Ninja. Imagine Tom Cruise riding a moped or a Vespa in Top Gun.

Top Gun is cheesy in 1986 then, and is still cheesy in 2013 now.
Time is better spent watching Mahire Emet.

Well if we talk about movies, i think, i was interested to watch this J-10 movie because the aircraft which is not my favorite, but.....well still i find it kind of cool, but i know the plot is not good.
I also watched mirror wars, that is about Su-35, basicly because of the aircraft
The story is not so political but still is crap, the acting is bad, some of the scenes show bad computer graphics, i only will basicly watch it when they have Su-35 scenes
There are many many movies about aircraft, for example Russian is black shark, about Ka-50, japanese, French, american, this about J-10.
I mean many nations and in many epochs, form F-86s to F-16s.
But the only movie i find good is The final count down, the story is not so political, the acting is acceptable, the aircraft scenes are great F-14s versus Zeros, and the story plot is about time travel and paradoxes of time, i call that a good movie in my opinion because despite has some politial intent, the movie moves away from just a political movie and has a plot that makes me watch it even when no aircraft scenes are involved.

around 2011.a picture of ES radar apppear in the web,immediately there's aurgument,whether this is PESA or AESA,but it odd to see IIF dipole antenna mounted on the main radar antenna plate.I recalled around 2008 zhuhai airshow, sales brochure show new gen. of IFF interrogator design similiar to APX-113 .the IFF antenna design to mounted in the front of cockpit.(F-16C has 4 IFF antenna in front of the cockpit).the IFF interrogator has two small horizontal antenna mounted in front of the cockpit.

scramble shows that J-10 has a new regiment at 12th division. I don't think this is such a surprise, since some of the previous rumours were suggesting this will happen. Wonder if this will be the last J-10A regiment.

The conversion of 12 Air Division 36 Regt from J-7B to J-10A has been known for quite some time and was discussed in posts # 3583-3595.
That is where plawolf reported the interesting observation that 36 Regt was relocated to Wendeng when Jinan was abandoned in 2010. The regiment was awaiting the completion of the new airfield at Qihe where it started the conversion late 2012.
The discussion sprang from the wonderful list provided by A. Man in post # 3582, which I think is in almost all respects correct.
The list says that the next regiment to convert to J-10A will be the South Sea Fleet’s 9 Aviation Division 25 Regt Lingshui. That will account for the rest (16) of the 40 Lot 07 J-10A’s.
The conversion of 25 Regt has been mentioned by another source, so I suppose it must be correct, even though it seems surprising that a J-8BH/DH regiment will switch to J-10A. I would have expected the last naval J-7 regiment, 8 Aviation Division 24 Regt Jialai, to be the one to convert.
What comes after that is everybody’s guess. Will J-10B production start after the completion of J-10A Lot 07, or will there be a further J-10A lot?
