Is it shocking? I don't think so. We all heard since Musharraf era that Pakistan would be the first export customer. We even saw him in the cockpit. We heard more then a few times from the ACM that we will get it. So some nice folks here still deny it? China has evolved unimaginable. J10B and J20 are just the open (pretty sure they are indeed open) programs. We have probably their J30 programs which we at the moment do not see. So exporting the good old J10 is not the big risk but a big improvement for PAF. It fits perfectly in the ZDk03-JF17 combo. So handling over the model to an important PAF person might not be a big deal. I myself have the J10 book that was only given to few people. I have the gold plated J10 symbols received many years ago from the Chinese. Does that implicate anything? Nopes. So indeed getting a model is nice. But we know that PAF will get J10. Maybe not now, then surely in the near future. After all, Those big numbers of Mirages are going to be replaced by J10. Those F7's are being replaced by JF17. Just check the plane variables and you will see the link.
Let us discuss the real important factors. Which engine? Which version? Which typical PAF requirements? Which weapons? When? (I think they will switch over to the J10B any time soon). And which radar....
