Just found posted by "Hongjian" at the CDF:

China order 123 АЛ-31ФН jet engines from Russia, cost over 500 million dollars

... not sure if that's actually a new order !

Well, something was going to give. We were either going to see J-10s with taihangs, or a new Al-31 order. I guess for now they still don't have enough confidence in the taihang to put it in a single engine fighter, or maybe the maintenance infrastructure is so entrenched it would increase long term costs (relative to 500 million) to introduce a new engine. It's also possible that they simply don't have enough production capacity to keep up with both J-10 and J-11 orders, especially since they've just ironed out production problems.

Corroborating Chinese report?

And Bloomberg too:

If the Russians stopped AL31F exports for J11s, presumably they would not be supplying any more spares when engines break down or reach the end of their lives. This means it will probably makes sense to go back and install WS10As in already deployed J11s and maybe even Su27s to keep them all flying.

Since the Russians are still happy to supply AL31FNs for J10s, it probably makes more sense to continue to use AL31s on J10s while all of the WS10A goes to SAC to keep all the J11s and Flankers flying.

Probably, but it makes me wonder about SAC's production capacity. If they can't ramp up production capacity, even having a good design won't make up for slow production rates.

The Engines are for older J-10s whose engine life is starting to reach its limit.
and New built J-10Bs.

"C" is the stealth J-10.

Video talking about how Chinese J-10s intercepted the Japanese P3C a while back... This is an officially leak! "Rumours" regarding the J-10 or J-11 intercepting Japanese fighter/spy planes are not rumours!

You get it right. The banner in behind reads: "... trail production..." (If you know the meaning of big-red-silk-flower-and-riband, you would be even more confirned.)

Chinese way of put it "pre-serials".

What a nice picture! It is not a very risky bet to suggest that the last two are 05 and 06.

The “gift-wrapped” 01 is evidently being handed over to PLAAF. This would be the first Chinese fighter with somewhat Russian-style camouflage, would it not (one wonders if we shall be able to recognise J-10B by the paint scheme, including the green stripes on the spine?)
