She's a beauty alright. Almost too bad. J-10A looked so cool to begin with, but now that we have J-10B, the 'A suddenly seems so old and weird :)

I really don't know why this pictures is still connected with a PLA-NAF service of the J-10 ?

IMO simply a J-10 fitted with the B's EW-pod on top of the fin under test at Xian-Yanliang.

However this AVIC post might be a hint for that !

I found this kind of interesting. The 24th division's J-10 regiment has identified units from 50 to 84. That means it has at least 35 J-10s. Meaning it would be the same size as one of those old J-6 regiments with 40 aircraft. I wonder if it is this way, because 24th division only seems to have 2 regiments + BaYi demonstration team.

Scratch

Captain
Question regarding the empoyment of J-10.

Are the two seaters just trainers, or are there also dedicated attack variants with a real Weapon System Officer in the back for certain missions?
And does the PLAAF make a difference between A-A & A-G (oriented) J-10 Regiments?

Reading these pages I've noticed that very little has been discussed about the Air to Ground and Air to Sea capabilities of this new plane.

Are there some new weapon that J-10B could carry?

And by the way, could someone just make a summary of the weapon types carried by the latest versions of J-10A?

Thanks.:china:

For ground attack I would guess something like: 6 500kg LGB's, 2 250kg dumb bombs, 2 SRAAM's, and 1 fuel tank. Alternatively, 2 500kg LGB's, 2 250kg dumb bombs, 2 SRAAM's, and 3 fuel tanks.

For antishipping: 2 ASCM's, 2 MRAAM's, 2 SRAAM's, and 1 fuel tank.
