According to Financial Times, none of the 170 drones made it to Israeli airspace. Israeli F-35 fighters were cued outside its borders to intercept drones and cruise missiles. 25 out of 30 cruise missiles were shot down by Israeli jets outside Israel’s borders.

The joint US-Israeli Arrow system played a key role in the intercept of 120 ballistic missiles launched against Israel, as did the US early warning radars in Iraq that tracked the missiles almost as soon as they lifted off in Iran.

The AN/TPY-2 radar, is reported with a detection range of 4700km against ballistic missiles in boost phase when operated in forward based mode (FBM).

Bibi pushed his luck with the attack on Iranian consulate and this Tehran response is such a huge strategic loss for Israel .In previous Israeli provocations, there was always an unspoken understanding that an attack or response on Israeli soil was off-limits and this taboo was broken last night.

Going forward, Israeli attacks against Iran in Syria or Iraq will be met with retaliatory attacks on Israeli soil by Iran. At times, you need to know when to stop and Bibi has broken the myth of Israeli invincibility.

Iran has many more levers:

- more waves of larger MRBM strikes (numbers)
- more advanced MRBMs such as Fattah and Khorramshahr (quality)
- escalate from Lebanon/Syria/Iraq (vectors and proximity)
- use any Israeli response as justification to enrich uranium to 90%

Each attack costs Israel $1 billion + 100-200 ABM interceptors (total inventory is for sure < 1000).

Israel struck a building next to the Iranian embassy in Syrian and Iran precisely struck the runway at Israel's strategic air force base in the Negev (plus at least 4 more targets). Next time Iran will strike the F-35 hangars themselves, the capability is clearly there.

What response you expect from Saudis or Pakistanis? Not long ago Iran fired missiles at Pakistan and Pakistan struck back Iran the next day, not 2 weeks later.

At state level, this isn't Pakistan's or business, they'll wish and hope for de-escalation and mind their own business.

Iran struck back after it's embassy was hit, not when Gaza was being pummeled. Stop channeling this as if Iran acted for Gaza, Iran themselves claim they acted in defense of their consulate.

Regarding nukes, none of Iran's neighbors would prefer Iran gets the nukes. Iran has tried to play the proxy game in Pakistan too but it never really took off because the security apparatus in Pakistan is not like whatever Yemen, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and also smaller % of population that could be sympathetic to Iranian ideology.
I never said Iran was retaliating for Gaza, Saudi practically funded the whole Pakistani nuclear program with the understanding that Saudi will have an option to "purchase" X number of Nukes from Pakistan later on, So yes let's keep an eye on what Saudi and Pakistan will do, Propganda pieces like unprecedented media tour of classified ballistic/nuclear installations or official statements with double meanings things like that

Am I taking crazy pills or is this not a resounding success for proving the effectiveness of air defenses. This single attack matches the largest salvos the Russians have thrown at Ukraine. While not as technically impressive due to the telegraphed action, this is still one of the largest AA operations against a multitude of attack vectors in recent memory.

Imagine if the tables were flipped and Israel launched the same volume of fire at Iran, how much of this could Iran have intercepted?
