Those are all meaningless gestures. We're talking about Arab countries banding together and declaring war on Israel. Whole different ball game.
Not gonna happen, and probably not necessary. Iran alone is a massive threat to Israel, add to that Hamas, Hezbollah, Syria, other Iranian militias, diplomatic pressure from China and Israel will be forced to follow the two-state solution. If the US forcefully intervenes, Russia might start arming all their ennemies in the region, because what's a better payback than a reverse Ukraine?

MOSCOW, Oct 8 (Reuters) - Arab League Chief Ahmed Aboul Gheit headed to Moscow on Sunday for talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on the situation in Gaza after Palestinian Islamist group Hamas launched the biggest attack on Israel in years.

Aboul Gheit, who served as Egypt’s foreign minister during the final seven years of Hosni Mubarak’s rule, will discuss the "ongoing escalation in the Gaza Strip," said a spokesman for the Cairo-based league of Arab states.

After Hamas's attack on Saturday, Russia expressed grave concern, calling on both Palestinian and Israeli sides to cease violence and blamed the West for blocking the Middle East Quartet.

Moscow said that a proper negotiation was necessary to provide for the creation of an independent Palestinian state within the borders of 1967 with a capital in East Jerusalem.

"We regard the current large-scale escalation as another extremely dangerous manifestation of a vicious circle of violence resulting from chronic failure to comply with the corresponding resolutions of the UN and its Security Council and the blocking by the West of the work of the Middle East Quartet of international mediators made up of Russia, the United States, the EU and the UN," Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.

There is a hypothesis that the Mossad turned a blind eye to all of this so they could ...

This hypothesis is very frequently applied to US and Israel in warfare and cyber security, and to US in finance.

Personally I am against this kind of hypothesis, especially when it comes to these two countries, because it can explain away any failure - they are always winning, secretly winning, even when to everyone they appear to be losing. To me it is part of their myth-making propaganda.

I'm not saying the hypothesis is always wrong, just that it is usually wrong.

There is a hypothesis that the Mossad turned a blind eye to all of this so they could obtain the license to do exactly what they want: destroy Gaza.
That is another example of "US knew Japan's attack on Pearl harbour before hand instead of US was blind". A conspiracy theory to cover their incompetence. Other similar manifestation is "US allowed China's Industrial growth instead of US lost competition with China."

I am more and more convinced that it is the west who is more sensitive in saving face.

This, from the nation that some, here, suggest that China should seek more positive relations with. It seems that, when yours is a nation is born of Anglo-Saxon imperial prerogatives, you just can’t help but internalize, and then express, imperialist attitudes. A “friend” of Israel is one to which Israel can dictate the means, modes, and parameters of interaction.

China gains nothing from ”positive relations” with this final bastion of British Imperialism, nothing!

BEIJING, Oct 8 (Reuters) - Israel expected to see a "stronger condemnation" of Hamas from China, a country it views as its friend, (emphasis mine) Yuval Waks, a senior official at the Israeli embassy in Beijing, said on Sunday.
