Credible reports that Iran has agreed with Russia to purchase: Su-27, Su-30, Su-35 and Yak-130 training aircraft. With Su-30 to be built locally under licence (presumably with TT).

Small number of Su-27 would work well with existing Mig-29 and good for possible reverse engineering Al-31 engine (in future). Local production of Su-30 with TT adds to that possibility. Su-35 is unexpected but excellent news, probably not more than 20 Su-35s, though. Yak-130 is fantastic news for future as well.

But not officially confirmed yet... (Probably have to wait until October)
This would not be the first time this claim had pop up. Especially the Su-30 local production claim. But so long as Russia is persecuting the Syrian War it is very unlikely than anything substantial will happen. It can't afford to piss off Israel, especially now that Turkish Russo relations are so rocky.

In the face of severe US pressure Turkey defied the US and chose s-400 over F-35. Russia and Turkey conduct joint military patrols in Idlib. Relations are not so 'rocky'.

Russia has already directly stated that the UN arms embargo on Iran fully ends in October 2020 and it will not recognize any illegal US plans to try to extend it. China also. The message is clear.

The reports I shared are from credible sources inside the Iranian military. I am sure it will happen, but only time will tell.

Please not again these fairy-tales ... either You name these "Credible reports" or You leave it. Especially since your claimed "reverse engineering Al-31 engine (in future)" alone makes it unlikely.

We are not a stupid fan-boy forum where any certain stupid claim posted at Twitter, Facebook or youtube is granted a fact.

And yet Turkish forced had shot down Russian aircraft in the past and had strike Russian backed Syrian forces in Idlib. Let's not kid ourselves into thinking that their relationship is rosy. They tolerate each other but barely.

And saying that a arms embargo is ending does not translate to an acquiescence to sell said weapons to Iran. And coming from a nation that parades around a pseudo stealth fighter aircraft as being legitimate, I will take what they say with a grain of salt.

It seems that you are still living in 2015! You must come to 2020, things have changed.

Russia and China already said that for their purposes the arms embargo will end in October this year and they will not recognize any US attempt to extend it. Which part of this do you disagree with?

Ah, anti-Iran trolls love to go to Qaher 313 with their irrelevant straw man arguments when they have nothing else to say and want to insult Iran. What makes it not "legitimate"? Did Iran ever claim it was operational? :)

Oh please, instead of repeating your stale talking points, how about you cite those oh so credible "sources" like Deino asked ? This is not some cheap fanboy forum where people can make baseless claims if they want to.
Things had never changed, just a few months ago. Russia and Turkey were nearly on the brink of an actual shooting war with Turkey close to activating Article 5 of the NATO treaty.

Accusing me of being a troll (which you are quick to do against non-moderator members) does not change the fact that your claim is fanciful at best. Or the fact that Iran likes to make over grandised claims that never materialized. It is illegimate to the extend that we have not seen anything substantial even after 3 years of it's unveiling or even a maiden flight.

Also : I never dispute that Russia says that the Iran arms embargo will end soon, I am disputing that Russia will actively sell arms to Iran because of it's participation in the Syrian conflict. Those are 2 different things, got it ?

Has there ever been any significant technology transfer from Russia regarding their jets to any country?

Also, the Qahar is just one example of the IRGC making fanciful claims. Even just this year, they were peddling this

I understand the need for propaganda especially when you're the second most isolated country in the world after North Korea, but propaganda has to at least pass the smell test.

Even if news of Russian jet production in Iran came from Khamenei himself, I would take it with a mountain of salt.

Either that or they signed the dotted line on screen, which is a metaphor in case fanboys take it too literally.
