those digital NVGs really becoming prevalent now. any good info on exactly what it does? I heard it can transmit images to commanders. This is the first image I have seen in years in which every soldier is wearing his vest properly (instead of letting it hang low like an apron and leaving half of the thorax exposed).
Just curious, any idea why the soldiers sometimes don't wear them properly? This is the first image I have seen in years in which every soldier is wearing his vest properly (instead of letting it hang low like an apron and leaving half of the thorax exposed).
It’s not a SOP since they are not used to wearing plate carriers. Sure, the PLA peacekeepers did wear their plate carriers properly, but the knowledge didn’t spread thanks to the relatively small number of people deployed. Plus their threats were relatively minuscule when compared to the ones in peak-GWOT US infantry faced.Just curious, any idea why the soldiers sometimes don't wear them properly?

Depends on what they're doing at the moment, I'd guess it gets quite hot on summers/spring in many regions.Just curious, any idea why the soldiers sometimes don't wear them properly?
It's not becoming prevalent, it has been discontinued. What you see now are the equipments that were distributed several years ago.those digital NVGs really becoming prevalent now. any good info on exactly what it does? I heard it can transmit images to commanders.
Is there any known reason this was discontinued? It's not becoming prevalent, it has been discontinued. What you see now are the equipments that were distributed several years ago.
Nope.Is there any known reason this was discontinued?
Ukraine experience? Perhaps it is much better to have NODs on rifles/weapons, vehicles or fixed mounts, rather than reduce situational awareness which occurs with monocular helmet mounted NODs, at least for line infantry.Nope.
