He's wearing the NCO uniform, which feature mandarin collars. I know it's a strange sight to see commissioned officers standing attention to an NCO.
Not if you've ever been in any kind of military academy it isn't! Also the guy in glasses looks like a sack of *youknowwhat* so unsurprising if the drill instructor made him double around the parade ground for a while.

It just seems an odd photo. I mean if it was an Academy you would expect them to be Cadet ranked or at most Lt. Glasses is wearing a Major’s rank.
military academies are not just for cadets. there are higher level staff officer schools or command schools. i just didnt expect the chinese to have officers form up like this i guess its not a bad thing.
looks like they are getting an inspection but in a hurry as there are clearly a few in the ranks who arent ready.
its funny that by just looking at their faces you can easily tell some of them are combat-arms.
Should be the other way around, since he outranks the guy in front of him.

Two more... Army and Air Force and.
They look too visible, albeit this is from very up close. The shade of blue is very similar to the UN blue, which is meant to be visible.
