Official clips of the operation:

As much as we (rightfully) shit on flawed Indian hardware and nationalist circlejerk, this is unarguably a very impressive operation serving the common good, and they do deserve the praise for it. This at the very least shows that elite branches of the Indian military (MARCOS, PARA-SF, etc.) are capable of pulling off real-time combat / anti-piracy missions in LIC environments, although the same can't be said about the rest of their 1.4 million fighting force

Impressive. Did the pirates surrender due to the threat of being fired upon by the destroyers should they engage the paratroopers though?
If that's the case, then it would signify that the Indian special forces are competent at airborne and insertion operations at par with any other country fielding such troops but it says nothing of their combat/direct action capabilities. Overall, this operation boils down to search, board and seizure albeit with a bit more flair.
