Judging by the impact site, that missile was not shot down.

Going forward India really needs to sit down with Paksitan and China. Simply saying my bad, won't happen again isn't enough.

What if they accidently launch a missile during a standoff like Galwan? Millions of people could die because one Indian technician pressed the wrong button or whatever happened. I could make a toilet flush joke here but I'm trying not to...

Maybe some sort of missile site inspection agreement like the provisions in START. Agree to have deployed missiles inspected at short notice to make sure none have warheads attached.

notice the crater...that does NOT look like a crater created by a missile traveling down at over mach 3, it is pretty small. looks like a normal crater created by any object that fell outta the sky from 40k feet and fell to the ground with gravitational acceleration.

this is what a crater made by an actual, targeted missile hit looks like, notice the huge size difference...

You're right, that doesn't look like a supersonic impact. I could have sworn I saw a picture with a much bigger impact site.

Still don't think it was shot down, a high speed interception would have annihilated it.

Can the Brahmos throttle? Either that or a malfunction.

I've heard it throttle but not sure. I don't think it was a malfunction. high speed interceptions have taken place against scuds and albeit then did get stopped, did not get annihilated.

this was an intentional launch and was headed towards the Rafique Airbase which is near the mian channu region where the missile supposedly crashed, there aim was to hit some target on the Airbase so that they can have an opportunity to jiggle their moobs in celebration while claiming that they are a "supa pawa".

You're describing an act of war.

There was no Indian military activity to indicate they were prepared for an escalation.

This was an accident caused by bad safety protocols and unreliable missile guidance.

they weren't prepared for an escalation because they were convinced that their brahmos would be extremely hard to detect if not impossible to detect. Kinda like when someone unexpectedly turns around takes a swing at you but you successfully block that swing, he quickly changes his tone and says "oh I'm sorry, I didn't know you where there, I was just trying to shoo a fly away"!

an "accidental" launch that followed a well known civil air traffic route down to near perfection...yeah okay.

Blech. If it was some sort of Su-30SM2 it would be ok. But more Su-30MKI at this point is pointless.
