China shows sensitive strategic weapons many years after or at least when they've been used in service e.g. hypersonic glide and air breathing weapons - DF-ZF/ DF-100, Type 094, DF-41, JL-3, WZ-8 drone, GJ-11, subsurface drone and so on. I wager it should be the case with H-20 and 096

Less sensitive PLA sanctioned weapons like naval railgun and J-20 are shown only when they are at least at prototyping.

Top secret stuff are not even mentioned until retirement lol. This includes EW.

Indians have long been showing things off 20 years before they build the prototype. When the plastic models go up, the Jai Hinds are worshipping it and parading it as if the mighty Indian military is receiving them within years. All the Indian comments I've read on these airshow models actually say they will be ready within a few years and in service. When others mention how much they resemble 1:1 copies of ZQ-58 and F-22/F-35, they are far more sensitive and unrealistic in their defence than the worst Chinese chauvinists. At least the J-20 is the most unlike the F-22 and F-35 to anyone with a small understanding of basic engineering.

Maybe they just have a different concept of what a few years mean.

Perhaps this is the Indians playing 5D hungry-hungry-hippo backgammon... they show you so many imagery projects, countless designs and specs, their people add to the hype all so they could create the illusion to confuse the enemy but had such a success that even their own scientists and engineers are confused as to what they are actually supposed to build... all the while they are secretly inverting the most terrifying weapons to ever grace the world... cow dung rail guns, cow urine focused lasers, cow dung shielded unclear power laser firing satellites and much much more cow dung, all we are seeing is just to mask our eyes!
