With 50 of the 66 contracted vessels already under construction, the Indian Navy is about to launch a massive expansion plan. There are fifty warships being built, ranging from block fabrication to ships prepared for sea trials.
Six shipyards in India are building 48 of these, while Yantar in Kaliningrad, Russia, is building the remaining two. These projects include ships valued at over 1.1 lakh crore INR ($13 billion), with a combined tonnage of over 200,000 tons. The following twelve months will see the delivery of twelve of these vessels.
There are twelve total: five frigates, one destroyer, two corvettes, one submarine, and three survey vessels.
