India have huge deficit with China, Ladakh brawls, sanctions, boycotts, tariffs, office raids, fines had not solve the issue. Talks? Yes, definitely a better choice.

These countries can be linked together other by High Speed Rail Corridor and dedicated freight corridor as well to boost trade and tourism
These statements :
"The 'Look East policy' is an initiative by India to explore extensive economic and strategic relations with the Southeast Asian nations. With the help of this policy, India aims to strengthen its position as a regional power and counter China's attempt to expand its influence in these regions."
Confirm that this project is for geopolitical reasons, that is to counter China's influence.
It has less economic benefits for India compared to that of all the other countries involved. When this project is completed, right through Vietnam, it is indeed an economic game changer for ASEAN, Nepal, Bhutan and Blangadesh. With China in the background, these countries have much leverage over India in this project.
Hopefully India will willingly complete this project with their sweats and money before they change their minds.

If you wanna trade with ASEAN, just join it, they will accommodate Indias concerns.

I don't know why the article thinks it counters China's influence, it actually indirectly helps China's trade connectivity as well
Yep. Welcome to the BRI.

Investment in infrastructure in the global south helps progress and growth. Progress and growth in the global south adds counter balance to the US hegemony.

This is an open challenge to the US, the Europeans and the ambitious regional powers including India. BRI is a plot under the sun. Beat it with better terms or live with it.

INDIAN Railways (IR) has sanctioned the final location survey (FLS) to construct a strategic 111km broad-gauge line from Imphal, the state capital of Manipur, to Moreh, located on the Indian-Myanmar border, as part of the initiative to improve international rail connections in South Asia.

Congratulation to India for starting the project. But a couple of advises :

[1] Surveying is the very first step. Next, economic assessment and agreement on the format of the project, follow by securing the funding. Then call for bids to build it, follow by land acquisition and start construction. It is a long and tedious process and India is not known for speedy execution. Just look at the time line of the Indian domestic HSR. Brag about the Myanmar Line when it is near completion.

[2] The rail line is to India's own border area, and not into another country. Brag about it when Myanmar is connected to it. I found it amusing the India media calls it the Myanmar Line, even though no part of it is in Myanmar. In contrast, for the recently completed China-Laos Railway, Laos calls their section the Boten-Vientiane Railway and China calls hers Yuxi-Mohab Railway. Those 4 cities are all within their respective country.

[3] Learn something about HSR before shooting off one's mouth about the subject. HSR required dedicated tracks. As I stated in my previous reply to your post, India has next to zero chances of building any HSR in SE Asia. Even the possibility of connecting to it is pretty low for the next 20~30 years.

To gain respect from others in this forum, do not make assertion without support information. Bragging about something far in the future as if it is happening today will get one some quick bashing.

My 2 cents.
