"the engineer"
Myanmar lacks the fund rest of the other countries have more than enough
I think India will need to prove they can build highways and HSR in India first before any other South Asian or SEA country accept their "help" and investment.

China actually have experience and have HSR to show to build it in SEA. And there is already a plan to build one to Singapore from Kunming (some parts are completed).

If India can't even get 1 km of HSR build, why would countries like Myanmar think they will any any this millenium. Especially when India have 0% of HSR tech while others have 100%.

If not HSR then atleast expressways and Dedicated freight corridors

SEA would change from meter gauge to 5'6" over standard, why?
I think China has learned not to try to force a change in gauge in countries, they realized it’s far easier to work with existing infrastructure. So, now they also build narrow gauge in certain places.

Expeessways are best for India, a modern smart expressway is ready for unmanned logistics, and it will be pretty efficient.

If the expressway starts getting 70% full, then you can consider rail.

Taiwan, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand have already gone with Standard gauge for their new railways.

The Japanese Shinkansen is standard gauge system which is separate to the rest of the narrow gauge railway network in Japan.
China and Korea already use standard gauge for all railway lines.
Even India will be using standard gauge for its new HSR lines.

Moving towards standard gauge is the norm in Asia.

The Day indian bullet train reaches Guwahati (a city in north east) we can become sure that it will now go towards Singapore From there
As for the freight trains and expressways it’s under construction i hope it gets completed before 2030

What have you been smoking ?

By the time India completes her first HSR internally, in all likelihood China would have completed the SE Asian HSR system from Myanmar to Singapore. The best India can do is to connect to the existing HSR network.

Stop drinking cow piss, it's not good for your health regardless of how "nutritious" it is. It's simply not meant to be consumed by human beings. Unless of course, you folks are beyond humanity.

Indeed, but you can use a little bit of narrow gauge to start the traffic going, once that’s established and growing you could use PPP to upgrade to standard. This is what is happening in Africa. They are building and upgrading narrow gauge for this purpose. It is very effective, is low hanging fruit, brings early harvest, provides commercial validation etc..

For Indian highway proposal, it’s important to remember that China doesn’t just build highways, they build economic corridors.

Along the highway or railway is a swathe of other infrastructure such as new towns, local road networks, 5G, Covid-safe warehouses and food storage/transportation logistics suitable for import to China and even dams, data centers, and HV power lines.

Can you imagine what would happen to an Indian government if they started building that stuff abroad?

These countries can be linked together other by High Speed Rail Corridor and dedicated freight corridor as well to boost trade and tourism

Such a route would also be connected to China via Yunnan-Myanmar and also Yunnan-Bangkok.

China is geographically closer than India on all of this route, with a larger and wealthier population closer as well.
That even applies to Myanmar which is next to the poor and isolated Indian Northeast.

So if there are any improvements to this Myanmar-Singapore route, presumably China would account for more of the additional trade generated than India.
