Construction on that particular road will resume once the area is secured.
I really hope so. And resumed sooner rather than later. Loudly in front on India's face. Gotta rub it in so their trolls can shut their mouths for once.

What is a "combat engineer unit?" I don't understand the term. How is it a combat unit if they weren't armed? Like I said, India ambushed a team of unarmed construction workers with no reason to believe they would be attacked or they would not have been unguarded/unprepared to fight.
If the PLA had anticipated the reaction, there is no way India could have gotten an inch of progress. Those 300 fellas would have climbed up a hill to 1,000 armed troops with combat vehicles and they'd be left with the, "Oh, is this Bhutan? We took a wrong turn, sorry." And left LOL
let me see what I got ...
LOL not sure how to quote the German expression from the above post so that somebody doesn't quote it as "Jura said ..."
OK now my position, as I said Yesterday at 9:01 PM
if I see a CCTV News report from a resumed road-building, the winner will be obvious
That road is one of the keys to economic growth both China and Bhutan to benefit. Ambassador's and diplomats can come visit Beijing anytime to discuss about anything, but economic stability can only "wait" for so long, especially for those that needed it most. The thing to look out for is the arrival of a Bhutan ambassador in Beijing probably next year. That is more important than that road.
If China was aware of this it is no wonder that the road builders were not provided with an armed escort. The answer is not yet known at least not by this author. However, a well-placed Indian source with close ties to the Indian military forces noted to me in a recent private correspondence that shortly following Trump’s election in November last year, a senior US intelligence adviser to the Trump circles stated bluntly that there would not be a war between USA and China, but rather there would be a war between India and China across the Himalayas. That was in November at a time Doklam was completely quiet.

guys I'm a pub debater so:Here what Chinese foreign ministry had to say about the subject. Clearly they didn't say they will stop road construction They may temporarily halt the construction due to approaching winter
China's border troops to continue to patrol Doklam: FM
Source:Global Times Published: 2017/8/29 17:05:34
China said on Tuesday that its infrastructure plans in the Doklam area will be based on actual conditions and Chinese border troops will continue to patrol the area.
"Conditions such as weather would determine China's infrastructure plan in the Doklam area," Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said at a press conference on Tuesday.
"To meet the needs and improve the working and living conditions of the local army and residents, China has been working on a long-term infrastructure plan in Doklam, such as building roads," Hua said.
China announced that India had pulled back its troops and equipment to the Indian side of the boundary, and that Chinese border troops will continue to patrol the Doklam area, Hua noted.
On June 18, more than 270 Indian troops and two bulldozers crossed the boundary in the Sikkim sector and advanced more than 100 meters into Chinese territory to obstruct routine road construction in the Dong Lang area of the Tibet Autonomous Region, the Xinhua News Agency reported.
Doklam, or Dong Lang, which borders India's Sikkim state to the west and Bhutan to the south, is part of Chinese territory and has been under Chinese rule for a very long time.

if building of the road doesn't resume ASAP, it might mean now it's like time-out:
Mr. Xi wanted the I in his B R I C S meeting next week, and Indians don't want the road, so both sides will wait until next Summer;
do you know what I'm saying?
well the road has been an issue for the Indians, and they basically did all they could to prevent China from building it; what matters is if they succeeded or not, I guessDid you even bother to read my post the road is not an issue here Indian trespassing in to Chinese territory is
