As usual Indian press lie to their teeth The foreign minister statement clearly said China exercise full authority on Donglam and continue with patrol while the Indian withdraw their troop

There is no independent source to confirm it
Because they're trying so desperately to cover up their humiliation. The Indian side will take any minor event and turn it into a propaganda victory for themselves. In 1962, they got completely thrashed by the PLA but invented the narrative of how they "bravely" killed 1300 soldiers at Rezang La to glorify these so-called martyrs (despite how the skirmish lasted 5 minutes), and thereby lessening the emphasis on their military disaster.

if you guys go on Youtube and watch some of the tv commentary about this aborted crisis you can see how delusional the Indian establishment is. it's almost painful to watch how they spin this. from China's perspective it's all good, let them claim their victory and let them kid themselves. Important thing is a war was averted and that's a victory for China because we don't have time for this crap. China has alot more important things to do than fight a war with ''3rd Brother'' I'm even more impressed with Xi dada and the men in Beijing because they had strategic patience. In a matter of 2 decades or so, China will become the biggest economic entity in the world so let's focus on that. While ''3rd Brother'' ain't going anywhere! Thank god our leader is Xi Dada and not Modi:eek:

i might be mistaken , but i watched a you tube clip of the 62 sino/indian war and i think the chinese side said they lost 760 odd troops

found some info

LDR - According to a report, at the end of the war the Indian army suffered the following casualties: 1,383 killed, 1,047 wounded, 1,696 missing, and 3,968 jawans captured. The Chinese on the other hand lost 722 soldiers while 1,697 were wounded.

That is my exact point. The Indian side deliberately inflated Chinese casualties to serve their propaganda purposes. Only 722 Chinese soldiers died during the war and this is agreed upon by both Chinese and Western experts.

I Thought your position before was China is not going to do anything and the Indian will stay . Now you change your tune?

You should know better the dispute has nothing to do with the road. Apparently India got panic because Bhutan is close to settling the border with China ceding Doklam for larger area in North of Bhutan and get infusion of money from China

India want to prevent this from happening by rail roading and corralled Bhutan into common front denying China Doklam area.

I guess this strong arm tactic failed because Bhutan doesn't cooperate and not single country in the world support India position.

So it left them with no option but backtrack their position which is better than war

So the view from middle Europe need to widen up and see the world as it is instead out of the prism of ideology and narrow mindedness. I suggest you travel widely in Asia and it could help you dispel your stereotype of Asia
Do like the German did they travel widely in Asia and they are cured of their gelbe gefahr though not all of them

We will have to wait to see if china is successful in getting Bhutan to swap territories.and if the 2018 elections result in a Bhutan govt more kindly disposed towards China.

Indian news is reporting that the Chinese have removed bulldozers and road-constructing machinery. Seems that, unless the Chinese are merely pausing construction of their road, India has won this round without firing a shot.
China may choose to pause construction, or they may choose not to. They can build at any convenient time. The freedom is with China. But once India pulled out, it's permanent. They know they got in by ambushing unarmed construction workers; they know they can't stay long, and they know that when road-building resumes, the PLA will be there on guard. China really let India get away with its face intact this time, though China gave away nothing at all and safe-guarded its sovereignty just fine

To tell the truth, I'm disappointed. I really wanted to see India badly humiliated, 1962 2017 edition. 1 rock-throw KO and 1 flying-kicked off a hill felt like just an appetizer. But I don't doubt the decision of ZhongNanHai; they have other things to focus on at the moment like Korea. India will have to wait; the US takes priority by many fold.

You know, at first, I was really keen on the idea of wresting Bhutan away from India as an F U gesture. But now that I think about it, if Bhutan wants billions and billions in support every year, what does it have to offer China in return? ($10 billion supposedly buys ~100 J-20, btw. What could Bhutan possibly offer China that's worth 100 J-20... per year?) If it's going to be a useless yet expensive ally, wouldn't it be better if it were on India's bankroll? LOL

LOL not sure how to quote the German expression from the above post so that somebody doesn't quote it as "Jura said ..."

OK now my position, as I said Yesterday at 9:01 PM
if I see a CCTV News report from a resumed road-building, the winner will be obvious

Yeah but that one rock throw and flying kick has been seen by millions around the world and especially in India where their trolls are psychologically butt hurt about it.
