If they are begging for a war like they are begging for their diamond and foreign aid everyday, I say China should oblige and teach them a harsher lesson this time. Perhaps they will learn and China can finance their separatists to weaken them so they do not become a great future threat. China prefers india continue being "democratic" and weak. The current status quo was working well for China until recent Indian aggressions.

I say it's better to suffer a slight nuclear holocaust and wipe india off the map than to back off from losing face to a country like india. Japan recovered from two A-bombs and recovered to become one of the strongest economies with their extremely limited land mass and resources.

Don't take this personally, but luckily you aren't in control of China's nuclear forces. Good heavens, this rhetoric seems to be a theme of both sides.

Heyyyyyy......don't ya folks get it? It's the mighty, all-conquering, thunderous"'BRAHMOS" that is the answer to all of India's enemies, as touted by Indian Media and Fanboys. Every single Tactic, Technique, Weaponry, Fighter Jets, Carriers, Ships, Missiles etc will be wiped out by the mighty "BRAHMOS". No use of planning, no point in developing any Military Industry whatsoever, what's the point of having Nuclear Deterrence, when India the Great can just unleash the mighty "BRAHMOS" at will at the slightest provocation. All countries should just give up and kneel before India the Great, lest they unleash the mighty " BRAHMOS" on ya......!!!!!

Yep brahmos brahhhhhh.... dat is ol we need for the bluddy chinkis. lol i guess that's why they are desperately trying to build nirbhay which is to this day still a failure despite india's access to foreign tech and assistance. It is very reflective of a smaller overall national intelligence.

Not taken personally at all. Totally understand where you're coming from but I said that in the context of a silly internet debate involving trolls. Just pointing out that China isn't against using nukes, they have them, in greater numbers, and greater delivery options. But it has to be said that Chinese are actually far too tame and passive. Build up undeniable evidence of india's history of brutality against others and their trespassing, then squash them like a bug. Sometimes there's a place for violence and hate against those who only know and deal them.

Nuh uh uh hold your horses. I said that ultimately, India can never win, China could never acquiesce to India's little gamble and that China possesses the ability to immediately neutralize India in all scopes of war BUT I did not say that China should oblige them with an instant beat-down. That call is up to ZhongNanHai completely and I trust their decisions 100%, more than I trust my own two hands. Their plans are much more than our to-beat-or-not-to-beat discussions here and I'm sure they'll get the situation exactly as they need. Maybe they've got a surprise that none of us could have imagined, most importantly, not the Indians.

This is definitely not going nuclear so we're not going to trade any "little nuclear holocaust" for killing India, etc... LOL It's not going there because who's gonna escalate it to nuclear? India? No. They know if they go there, they end their own country. China? No. Why go nuclear when you can hand someone a nice contained conventional beating?

I've stated this in a different forum, but China has to consider the long-term economic, political, and military implications of a large-scale war with India. Especially when China is still developing its military forces and looking to build rapport for the sake of future economic growth and globalization.

A war with another rising power like India, with which China would like to maintain trade relations in the future and beyond, cannot be taken lightly.

Agreed. I did speak in exaggerated terms in regards to b787's suggestions. What you have said is totally right. Wonder what interesting developments will materialise in this region.

China and india fought three times along the border:1962,1967,1987. the last skimish in 1987 escalated rapidly with both sides mobilizing large army on the border.

Deng told visiting US secretary of defense Weinberger: "if india doesn't back down, we'll teach them a big lesson". Weinberger passed the words to Rajiv Gandi, india withdrew.

today we are there again, and this time india doesnot want to swallow its pride and withdraw.

the saying is jaw jaw better than war war, but sometimes jawjaw doesn't solve anything, because the perceptions of two sides don't line-up, there's no common ground, and the fair and square way is to fight it out.

Anyone have any photos and/or news updates in Indian military mobilisation towards the boarder regions?

We have seen serious PLA men and materials mobilisation and deployment to the boarder.

Have there been any pictures of Indian troops, and more importantly in my view, materials movements, like all the HQ16 reloads we have seen on the Chinese side?

It's one thing rushing a load of troops and war machines to the boarder to make up the numbers and put on a show, it's another entirely to make sure they have the materials and munitions needed to fight and win.

We can see China is serious from its logistics preparation, but thus far I have seen nothing like it on the Indian side.

Are the Indians really not preparing to actually fight after starting and sustaining this whole crisis?!

It does not appear to be. I have seen extremely limited buildup of forces on the Indian side. India is playing a mind game if you ask me. It's almost like the Modi admin. is letting the indian troops there playing role of the sacrificial lamb because you just know if a few armored division descended upon a tiny garrison it doesn't matter who is right, wrong or the legalities surrounding it.

The world press will automatically side with the Indians as they play the victim narrative 24/7 about the massacre of their forces by the big evil red.
