I think that this is being used the same as Germany did with Poland in 1939 when they said that they want to build exterritorial road between Danzig and Western Prussia through Polish territory. Of course it was stupid idea from the start but Germans used it to stir up the nationalistic feeling against Poland in their country. Poland of course said no to such plans. And we all know that it wasn't about some stupid road - that war was for world's dominance\test their army and Germans had to start somewhere.
It looks all the same to me this time. I hope that nothing too serious will come from that and both sides will back off to what it was few months ago...
Another memorable nugget of our in-house Korean affairs specialist who mastered the language and the whole Korean history after a few books, not to mention the impressive service he claimed he did somewhere sometime on a ship. Sorry was it on Carnival? LoL
In all your wisdom, would you care to explain why this 2017 border standoff in Donglang is same as what Nazi Germany did with Poland in 1939?
Is there an entity called Western Sinodia stuck in the middle of India that nobody knew nothing about its existence until today, except you?
Was China asking India an "Indian Corridor", not a dirt road like the one in Donglong mind you, to connect with the long lost compatriots residing in a free city state inside India? LoL
Before the Polish Corridor, preceding events showed Nazi Germany withdrew from League of Nations, the same year Nazi party came into power and increased its troops strength over half a million within couple of years before taking back Saarland and Rhineland. Then came the invasion of Austria and Czechoslovakia. So Nazi Germany had already started her highly militaristic conquests long before Polish Corridor.
Did China withdraw from United Nations recently? No. She is still an active member positively contributing to the organization on all levels.
Did China increase her troops strength recently? No. It was the other way round, she reduced the overall size of her standing army.
So there clearly is a different trajectory and vastly different historical contexts.
Instead, you should go back to 1962 border war and subsequent incidents and skirmishes along the border. That's where we can see the comparable precedents, not the 1939 Polish invasion and Nazi Germany.
Have you been reading Japanese history textbooks only ?
