How many fighters does China have?

That looks really nice, some minuscule corrections may be made.

FTTC has 21 J-10(J-10S in 1 Regt (I do not really believe number 13, though several sources mention it), 9 J-8BH and 7 J-7E in 2 Regt, and 18 SU-30MKK in 3 Regt.

I guess the SMTU abbreviation is from Scramble. The correct designation appears to be Flight Test Regiment (飞行试验团). The regiment has 2 J-11B, 2 J-8F, 3 J-7H, 1 J-7G, 3 JJ-7A.

Cheers. Working on it. Just education life is getting busy again. Was absent because of it.

Replacement options I can see are J-10's, while FC-1 only can provide a short term stop gap but by time they are in sufficient numbers they will need to be retired soon, the J-10's can serve the Chinese airforce longer. A regiment or 2 of FC-1 could be inducted.

J-11 & J-10 they will keep being produced to phase out the J-7/J-8. Don't forget the Naval airforce, they too need to replace their ageing frames, and with the rising importance the Navy is playing, best predictions would lead to the Naval airforce fleet to be bigger, while PLAAF numbers will remain more or less the same.

JH-7A production is slowing down, their JH-7 original first variant batch would soon need to be replaced. The slow in production could indicate something in the pipe works, could be a upgraded JH-7A variant or something new, best bet would be upgraded JH-7A variant with minor airframe modifications and avionics and radar overhaul. There are still a few regiments of Q-5 to be replaced.

Just a little input on my behalf.

Modern Chinese Air Power - People’s Liberation Army Air Forces - On sale 29 Oct 2012

Much of the fascination that Chinese military aviation holds for the analyst and enthusiast stems from the thick veil of secrecy that surrounds it. This uniquely compact yet comprehensive directory serves as a magnificently illustrated, in-depth analysis and directory of modern Chinese air power. It is organised in three parts: the most important military aircraft and their weapons found in Chinese service today; aircraft markings and serial number systems; and orders of battle for the People's Liberation Army Air Force and Naval Air Force. The study includes the latest developments emerging from behind the 'Bamboo Curtain', including the J-20 stealth fighter programme and other indigenous projects that are equipping a rapidly modernising air arm. The centrepiece consists of almost 100 fully illustrated pages detailing the organisational structure of the Air Force and Naval Aviation, providing an easy-to-use review of all known flying units, their equipment and their markings. No other book has ever attempted to present this level of accuracy in this way: 'Modern Chinese Air Power' portrays the PLAAF and the PLANAF in a degree of detail that was previously unavailable.

Hope You will enjoy it !!
