"Joshua Wong: 4 years, 8 months"
Joshua Wong should get much more than that, he will never get hired by anybody in HK, Macao or China ... even Taiwan didn't want him ... he is simply a trouble maker, no other skills for real work

When he will get free? .. hopefully another trial for something else when he is free

Well it's been several years, but from what I remember he did not play a leading role in 2019 (not like in 2014). The court probably found the evidence was not enough to justify a severe punishment.

In any case, I think they took the correct approach with relatively lenient sentences. The greatest victory is when Joshua Wong is just another name, because nobody remembers or cares anymore. Unless he continues to make trouble, he should be free to live out his life in obscurity. Even Puyi got a regular job after WWII.

To compare the last Emperor of China to Joshua Wong is an insult to the former emperor. Joshua Wong is nothing but an insignificant ant in terms of stature and importance in the grand context of China's long history. I hate that piece of roach with a burning passion.

Hope that Hollywood make a movie about Gollum, he is perfect to cast that role. ;)

In terms of personal courage, I would say it's the complete opposite. Puyi was a coward who never went anywhere close to the front line. At least Joshua Wong, whatever his flaws, was brave enough to join his followers on the streets.

He wasn't so brave after being denied entry into the US consulate.

That was years after he led the 2014 effort, and went to jail for it. My meaning was that at least he led from the front line. Misguided courage is still courage.

Joshua Wong took pictures of himself with anti-China US politicians during this event. He's a traitor that should be executed for conspiring with foreign enemies of China. The US would imprison and execute Americans if they did that to the US while trying to revolt and cede territory from the US.

HONG KONG — Hong Kong’s top leader warned President-elect Donald Trump on Tuesday not to interfere in the Chinese territory’s internal affairs after he said he would “100%” free the imprisoned pro-democracy activist and tycoon Jimmy Lai.

Asked last month whether he could get Lai out of China, Trump told conservative podcast host Hugh Hewitt, “100%, I’ll get him out” and said it would be “so easy.”
