The first and most fundamental duty a lawyer has is to defend the rights and interests of his clients within the framework of the laws and regulations of the country.
These foreign agent lawyers are a million times worse than even the lowest ambulance chasers, because an ambulance chasing lawyer will still fight for his client to get something at the end of the day.
What this scumbag and others like him do is cherry pick cases they can use to undermine China’s legal system and rule of law by exploiting the injustice some people experienced. However, they have zero interest in getting any justice for their clients, only using them as fodder to advance their own agenda of attacking China. Anyone stupid and desperate enough to let such scumbag lawyers take their case is basically fucked, because these lawyers would have wasted their shot at getting justice and tainted their cases to such an extent that they will not get a favourable judgement even if their case had genuine merit.
It would be like a lawyer taking on cases in America and basically instead of arguing the legal points, just spent the whole time arguing how the entirely American legal system is corrupt and irredeemable and need to be overthrown. You can have the most bullet proof case in the world and you will still loose if your lawyer pulled that bullshit in court. And if any lawyer did that in America, they will also have their law licence revoked in record time, and rightfully so.
I didn't know this type of criminal would also deliberately throw the cases where they're supposed to represent. But well, anyone who literally takes illegal blood money is unfit to represent anyone legally, regardless of their performance.
Still, interesting but perhaps not surprising, these "lawyers" aren't trying to help their clients, they're trying to make a business for themselves, using American money. When they have the 2nd largest economy in the world and decided their entire model of competition to be sabotage, it's not surprising that they can create entire small industries within an industry based on grift.
