Hong-Kong Protests

I always find such article of proclaiming the protests are peaceful is laughable especially given what happened in DC and how media react to DC protest.

Forget DC.
I've said this many times, but it is pure irony that rioters were spraypainting "Chinazi", when they were live-action roleplaying the SA during Kristallnacht. Terrorizing diners at restaurants, destroying businesses not aligned with your politics, how is that freedom?

RTHK’s clean up continues. The latest head on the chopping block is talk show host Alan Au Ka Lun whose programme was terminated a couple of days ago. Au, a well known pro-democracy commentator, had attracted many complaints regarding his independence for HK views, was only given one day’s notice. At least 2 other media personalities have been axed recently as RTHK moves to be more in line with the views of the HK government.

When he got kicked out like that for violating national security laws, will he still get paid?

The anti-extradition law mass protests started right around this time 2 years ago. On 1 July 2019 if I remember correctly the protesters stormed the LegCo building.

Two years ago I would have never imagined the situation in HK today. What happened between then and now is no less than a second takeover of Hong Kong.

Just ignore the typical western MSM propaganda mental gymnastics.

True to form, they always takes things out of context, listing only the countermeasures China has take in direct response to western planned, financed, coordinated and directed colour revolution activities; while completely ignoring all the violence and chaos their condom paid footsoldiers were doing, to try to twist it as some years long power grab plot by Beijing.

Newsflash for the deliberately retardiness, but HK is a part of China that was granted additional privileges. Those privileges are only enjoyed due to Beijing’s forbearance and charity, and can be withdrawn at any time Beijing chooses, since any original commitments would have been made null and void by the west’s own blatant gross interference first. Besides, passing the national security law was a conduction of the handover to start with.

US intelligence agencies have always used and infiltrated western MSM (just look up Operation Mockingbird, which incidentally has never been officially discontinued), but these days they are just openly moving it.

As such, we really need to treat western MSM as an arm of the US state and intelligence agency in particular. Same with US aid agencies and Non-profits. All are either active fronts, shell companies and covers for US espionage and subversion operations; or are sleeper cells not yet formerly activated/recruited.

Still not the majority however. How many generations does it take?

Hong Kong silenced... what a joke. Why do Chinese people have to submit to western notions? Perhaps Chinese should call this "cultural genocide"...

Does this podcast speak to the British expat bankers making millions from China-based corporate IPOs? Freedom to buy yachts and sail away, that's not true freedom, right? lol.

How about the HK villagers who are proud that their ancestors' wishes have finally reunited HK with China? I also assume it doesn't speak to people like Joe Tsai, who says mandarin speakers are routinely discriminated and threatened, and they think the NSL will protect them.

Western freedoms are perfect!! Not going to find a black mother worried for her son's future in America, no way! Not going to find a Chinese academic harassed by the FBI wondering whether it's better to stay or leave...

This is not about China being better, or "whataboutism". Rather, why is is the superiority of western governance model assumed to be sacrosanct? If the problems are so bare to see, then it's just switching one set of problems (ie lack of press freedoms) for another (ie inability to build infrastructure in a timely manner)

Western MSM are good at propaganda games. No doubt from their CIA handlers.
But China is not far behind now. Problem is what ever China does, it will never get reported in the western MSM.
