Trump is an anomaly in the US and don’t think there will be anyone like him again. So things will go back as before after he leaves office.
so I don’t think it’s a big deal to try and be purging those we think might have different opinions over some issues. The only time they should be an issue is when they take action that threaten the country’s core interests, sovereignty and national security. Apart from that I don’t think the government should go around policing people for their views over some issues.
Don’t forget that some conservatives in China today(just like back in the days) will consider Deng Xiaopings policies of open up to western and Asian investment and his capitalist reforms will be consider as traitorous and even a western lapdog/puppet, even though it wasn’t the case. Sometimes it’s also about how perception to some people not really facts.
No, Trump is not an anomaly and half of the people in his establishment is viler, more delusional and more aggressively stupid than him. They are also alot less funny and entertaining so they're unelectable.

US society is radicalised by an endless stream of internet ragebaits, the contradiction is too much to ignore. There's obviously no need to police China for "Pro western factions" since the United States have helpfully seen to their destruction over the past 9 years. The United States no longer stands for anything, there shouldn't be any hangout about policy descision that might be 'associated' with the west. They themselves aggressively contadict what they supposedly espouse.

I mean, China was weak for a century, and I get they need to rationalize their big decision to immigrate abroad, but they really picked the wrong time to bet against China lol. This is literally once in a lifetime chance to go from dirt poor to superpower, and benefit from it one way or another, and they are betting against it... wrong side of history.
