Yes, but here it might be allowed, at the Keyforum a few certain menbers would bash it immediately ... anyway You are surely correct.

To be perfectly honest, I am getting very tired of trying to present reasoned positions (even at SDF). The only interest out there is to reduce every argument into a binary of "China greatest ever" or "China worst ever".

Seems to me the wings are far more forward, the nose is shorter, and the intakes are further outboard in the model than that CGI. All those change the plane's appearance drastically, I think. I thought Grassroot's line art is closer actually.

Agreed, I think Bai Wei added only some kind of personnel artistic touch to it !

Anyway it doesn't matter much for me who's more or less correct, as long as they unveil this damn thing soon. :p

If at all. I have a theory that such a JH-XX program is frozen until they can develop adequate engines.

I mean, this CGI is obviously meant to be an interpretation of the model from the only picture we have of it which happens to be from an angle which doesn't show its full outline... out of all the things you describe, I think the only one I agree with is that the nose of the model seems a little bit shorter than in Baiwei's CGI... Hardly "wishful thinking" for that change in detail imo, especially when we don't know how accurate the model's detailed proportions are relative to the actual proposal design of the plane.

And yeah, of course Grassroot's line art is closer to the model's appearance given it is only a piece of vague outline with no details at all >_>

No, he's had more detailed line art before :p. I did say that he was only re hashing an outline of actual drawings he's made before.

I tolerate it by trying to avoid those kind of discussions and calling them out when I see it, along with accepting that the very nature of anything China does is going to be sized up and compared along the spectrum you describe. Our cross to bear by being interested in these things in the first place.

Yeah... it's Oct-1 national day! Someone post at least a blury pic of the real thing! Not for us..... but for China! :p

I'll be disappointed if that's the only thing we get for Oct-1..... I was expecting a little more exciting news than just a CG.

I think I know what you're talking about -- his CGIs of JH-XX were posted a little while ago as well, with similar proportions to those line drawings. Personally I feel like those CGIs were a little too chubby and not as tapered as the model suggests it is from the photo we have, but then again it's his interpretation, so fair game.
