DUV is slowly being replaced by EUV in Top FABs around the world. In China it will prevail as its is a lower cost machine compared to EUV which makes it cost effective in local Chip production. SMEE will continue to make improved DUV models in the future.

You are trying to move the goal post .... who else developing EUV, NOT using it!!!

@Bltizo
And what is it?
@tidalwave was banned who was among few people with knowledge of the semiconductor sector which contributed to this thread, and because of troll baiting by @manqiangrexue who didn't even get a warning.

Why would I get a warning? I said if he wasn't successful in getting the attention of Huawei or China's government, then he likely had nothing to offer them. What contributions does he make? Talk about how everybody everywhere should listen to him? Why? Who is he? He's just a guy with an opinion and no specifics on how to achieve them. For someone to claim he has more knowledge than presidential advisors in a scientific field, he has to provide extreme evidence of his accomplishments, which he has not. He seems mildly knowledgeable at a level far too low to be useful to any government, but extremely angry. When that is pointed out to him, all he does is drop F-bombs and insults people. That's his pattern of behavior and he was warned several times for it previously. This isn't even his first account after his other ones were permanently banned as well.

Ive said my mind on this, Im rooting for China, we are on the same team brother, but EUV is 10 times more difficult than the H bomb or rockets or anything else China has ever done before. If it was easy Huawei would have done it already. Like Tidal said months ago, EUV is in the realm of the quantum; atomic research, space station, all that was realm of the macro. China has never done anything like this before and its already off to late start due to complacency and naively trusting Americans not to stab in back at critical moment of its tech development... it cant turn to anyone to jumpstart its progress this time unlike space, nukes, infrastructure, jets, high speed train etc

This is 100x more difficult than landing on moon... proof? American landed on moon half century ago,yet even today the US cannot do 7nm

with your logic, ASML could develop H bomb, rocket, space station, landing moon, etc ... just purely BS

The reason EUV hasn't been done in China and even US, EU and Japan .. is not because more difficult than developing H bomb, it was simply not a priority ... it is now for China and you will see China will make it happen in a few year. US, EU and Japan could do the same if it was considered a priority

Exactly. The Dutch are compliant and complicit in US hegemony so there is zero need for US and its vassals to expend efforts replicating that capability.

You sound like a foreigner who is upset that China is making progress in Lithography. Whatever the specifications of the new DUV Lithography machine, it has the capability to produce Chips at the 7nm node and it will be available in December. SMEE will continue to improve its DUV machines as it is their main business. Unless of course it decides to start producing EUV machines one day.

On the contrary, I wish all the success to Chinese SMEE companies.

As for you, I am putting you on my ignore list as you just continue to produce useless noise.

I don't even get the hate for tidalwave. Unlike the rest of you, at least, he shares useful technical information. At least, he tried to inform Huawei of possible dangers. I don't know if he is wrong or right, but at least he tried. None of you even know why he was ignored by Huawei. Some are assuming he's "useless". It's extremely rude. Once he's gone, this topic will be a technical ghost town of ignorance with the ocassional fool yelling, "China strong. Have faith" empty triumphalism.

Some members overdo it with their defeatism. Others are over confident. Both are dangerous. What we need is vigilance/healthy fear.

The Dutch are West-Europeans. For them we are some sort of kufars/kafirs/infidels and practice heresy because we do not have democracy, human rights, trias politica etc. In their view we are bad and have no moral. You should try to understand these politcal quasi-religious views from those Germanic tribes.

1. Nobody knows if his information is correct and he gets very angry if you suggest it may not me. It's better to have people who know that they are ignorant posting articles to try to analyze them together than to have one guy aggressively shoving his opinion and analysis down everyone's throats.

2. Tried to warn them about what? Huawei and the CCP are far more alert to the dangers and the details of the dangers than he ever will be simply because he doesn't have the scope to obtain such protected information. It's just nonsense for a person to write a letter to Huawei/CCP with his basic sense of what should be done and then criticize them for not listening to them! It's like writing a letter to the Lakers saying they need to score more baskets to win and then saying they're all idiots because they didn't listen to his "warning." It's nonsense what he posts. He's got no humility when talking about people who have accomplished so much more than he can ever hope to in multiple lifetimes.

3. His vulgarity in his response to criticism is just not acceptable.
