Daylight robbery.

A quick Google reveals that a unit cost of a Harpoon is $1.4 mil. 60 Harpoons for $355 mil, even if you take into account the upkeep cost, is pretty damn insane.

ROC is getting absolutely fleeced.

I mean americas allies are not the smartest anyway, na*i germany pays 240.000.000€ each airframe of F-35.

So getting Harpoons for 3x their price is quite ok

Due to the difficulties of hitting a drone in the air ROCA is sending their best snipers to Kinmen and Matsu.

See what I think is happening here is CPC is trying to recreate the same sort of atmosphere as Kinmen artillery duel (but doing it with plausible deniability without using PLA), to make Taiwanese feel that war is just around the corner. Right now they are too relaxed. Then we'll see who really wants independence enough to sign up for military service.

According to the Taiwanese military they managed to shoot down a civilian drone this morning with bullets.

I don't think tracking this stat is relevant. No nation recognizes this so called ADIZ that extends into territory that has been government held for decades.

Therefore normal PLA operations always cross these areas as part of their routine transfers from 1 part of the mainland to another. They're not harassed by the rebel army that lacks aerial capabilities overall, especially at any major ranges.

The only important flights are ones that go over rebel held territory or at least fly towards Taiwan Island before turning back.
