Yeah the KMT sold their souls to the Hanjians. We should talk to the Taiwan New Party aka Real KMT
KMT vice chairman will lead a delegation to China tomorrow amid strait tensions.
If there is to be a peaceful reunification of Taiwan, the KMT will have to be a factor.

But okay let's be serious and work this out. We can pretty much guess what they're going to say: we'll say we support the 92 consensus again if you promise us to leave some spot for us in National People's Congress after reunification. That's a pretty crap deal that I wouldn't take. Why would I, CPC who's on a roll in recent days cut you in on my glorious reunification?
There is a deal that they could offer that I would accept, but knowing KMT I rather doubt they will make it. If they could get all their old generals to come out and say something like "I came over with back in the days. I don't care about CCP or KMT, my only wish before I die is to see China united". That sort of elevating the unification of the nation over KMT type talk I would make a deal for. But alas that sort of deal could only be made by people like and he didn't win in their last internal party election. Instead we have a KMT today as they've always been even a century ago: a den of squabbling thieves and beggars each working for different interest groups.

An observation I've had about western media at least in Australia was that the news about this event was extremely muted until China declared its exercises after the visit, I was flabbergasted by how little representation there was about an event that was deeply consequential to Australia's future.
